    Schuster Concrete Construction commissions first Potain MDT 809 in the US

    The first Potain MDT 809 in the United States is deployed on a job site in Washington D.C. Launched at bauma 2019, the new Potain crane has been purchased by the Owings Mills, Maryland-based construction company Schuster Concrete Construction (Schuster) and is helping to build the “City Ridge” development, which is a project that will transform the former Fannie Mae headquarters into an urban village. One of Potain’s largest capacity cranes, the MDT 809 M25 is ideal for this job because of its exceptional load charts, its tip capacity and its up-and-over reach, which enables Schuster to save time on the job site.

    Manitowoc promotes The Manitowoc Way at Colombia’s largest infrastructure event

    Manitowoc had a successful presence at the 16th National Congress of Infrastructure in Cartagena, Colombia, the country’s largest infrastructure event that took place November 20 – 22. During the three-day congress, the company presented its most modern cranes and innovative technologies to hundreds of visitors interested in learning more about how to increase efficiency on the job site and boost their return of their investments.

    BKL’s Grove GMK6400 with MegaWingLift™ assisted in the construction of a heat storage system on the Ingelheimer Aue in Mainz, Germany

    A Grove GMK6400 crane from BKL’s crane fleet played a key role in the construction of the new heat storage system on Ingelheimer Aue between Wiesbaden and Mainz in Germany. The specialists at the Frankfurt location of BKL Baukran Logistik GmbH planned the operation and completed the last lifting job with the powerful Grove AT crane. The crane carefully placed the cover of the heat storage container (a component weighing 35 t) on the 36 m high special container for a total height of 43 m after assembly. The diameter of the container was approx. 12 m. The GMK6400 — with a lifting capacity of 400 t and added MegaWingLift™ for additional power showed its full potential during this challenging lift, without taking up as much of a footprint as a large crane.

    Manitowoc Cranes has appointed All State Crane and Rigging (All State) as the newest Potain self-erecting crane dealer in the U.S. Based in Holland, Michigan, the company will sell and rent the entire range of Potain self-erecting cranes, as well as offer parts, service and training. All State is one of the top rental agencies in the region and this partnership helps expand Manitowoc’s local service in the Midwest.

    Potain Igo T 85 A works on extension at Mona Museum in Tasmania

    Australian contractor Fairbrother chose a Potain Igo T 85 A self-erecting tower crane to help expand the Museum of New and Old Art (Mona) at Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. The crane was chosen for its flexibility and lifting capacity, as well as the close control of its movements.
