Southern Cranes adds 10 new Grove all-terrain cranes to support growth strategy
• UK-based lifting and equipment provider Southern Cranes has ordered 10 Grove all-terrain cranes, including GMK5150XL, GMK5250XL-1, and GMK3060L-1 all-terrain models.
• The first GMK5250XL-1 has already been delivered and the complete order will be fulfilled by midyear.
• The new cranes are all three- and five-axle units, and form part of the company’s wider fleet modernization and diversification strategy.

Manitowoc launches two new Potain luffing jib cranes
• Manitowoc is introducing two new luffing jib crane models, the MR 309 and MR 329, which come in 16 t or 25 t maximum capacity variants.
• While both cranes share a 60 m jib and 3.4 t capacity at the tip, they have different load curves and heights under pivot thanks to the respective 2 m and 2.45 m pivot and mast configurations.
• The new generation responds to customer feedback for simpler and quicker erection, a greater height under pivot, more powerful load charts, and a smaller out of service radius (minimum 9.5 m up to 12 m).
Multi-Crane solves De Zaanse Helden’s jobsite puzzle with Potain cranes
• Dutch crane company Multi-Crane has deployed six Potain MDT topless tower cranes for the De Zaanse Helden residential project in Zaandam, near Amsterdam in the Netherlands.
• The project’s confined space demanded meticulous planning of the crane positioning, hook heights, and oversailing. Multi-Crane’s ability to solve the puzzle with its fleet of Potain MDT topless tower cranes won the company the rental contract.
New Potain MCR 625 is a high-speed, high-performance luffing jib crane for the world’s fastest-growing markets
• The latest luffing jib crane from Potain builds on the design of the popular and proven MR 618 for European and North American markets.
• It is designed for the growth markets of Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America and includes moveable counterweights for better space optimization as well as a compact design.
• The MCR 625 works with one or two-fall reeving, enabling faster hoist speeds to maximize productivity.
Five Potain cranes chosen for India’s groundbreaking new airport
• Construction company Tata Projects purchased two Potain MCT 565 A topless tower cranes for a new terminal building project at India’s largest airport.
• The company also rented three Potain MCT 385 A tower cranes from Rental Partners to provide full coverage to the huge infrastructure project.
• Tata Projects engaged Manitowoc Lift Solutions to increase the maximum jib on the MCT 565 A cranes from 80 to 85 m.
ILC of Kuwait boosts Grove fleet with a year of record purchases
• The company received 31 Grove all-terrain cranes in 2023 – its largest number from Manitowoc in a single year.
• Deliveries included 20 GMK4100L-2, 10 GMK6300L-1, and its first GMK5250XL-1.
• Build quality, maneuverability, and service support all contributed to ILC’s record number of purchases.
Nimble Crane to shine light on Autism Awareness Month with vibrant crane wrap
• The company plans to unveil a Grove GMK5150L crane with an autism awareness wrap in April as part of its support for the cause.
• Over the years, Nimble Crane has prioritized engaging with the surrounding community on important issues.
France’s A.A.Y.M. adds a second Grove crane to fleet
• The family-owned lifting and handling company purchased its first Grove crane, a GMK6300L-1, in 2021.
• Now it has added a second, a GMK5150XL, following many positive experiences with the GMK6300L-1.
• The new crane got right to work at a local factory, supplying materials for work on the facility’s rooftop.

• The 450-US t crane is already busy performing various lifts in the Portsmouth-Newport News area in Virginia.
• W.O. Grubb opted to purchase the crane for its self-erecting MegaWingLift™ and ability to mobilize with the boom in the boom rack.
Grove GMK5250XL-1 extends helping hand to German soccer club VfB Stuttgart
• German crane rental company Gräser-Eschbach used its Grove GMK5250XL-1 all-terrain crane to help with a stadium renovation project.
• Using a crane with a telescopic boom was the only way to lift heavy components into place below the overhanging stadium roof.
• The crane’s MAXbase flexible outrigger option helped navigate space restrictions, counterweight reductions, and the need to extend the 8-section boom to long radii.
