Crane Library Website Instuctions

The information on this site is for REFERENCE ONLY and must not be used for specific serial number cranes or attachments. Serial Numbered charts or Manuals for a specific crane or attachment can be purchased from an Authorized Manitowoc Distributor.

The Crane Library contains literature and other technical information for all Manitowoc crawler cranes only. The Website replaces the previously distributed Crane Library CDs.

Existing users: If the chart number needed is known, simply enter the chart number into the search box at the top of the Crane Library window and click the red arrow to the right of the search box. The chart will appear in the search results and can be clicked and accessed from the search window. If the search does not produce the desired chart, the chart number may have been entered incorrectly and should be checked.

New users: The Table of Contents is organized into sections: Crawler cranes, Ringers, Attachments and Truck Cranes. Locate and click on the desired crane model from the home page. Note that there are two pages; to advance to the second Contents page, click the number “2.” By clicking the model, it will advance to a list of all literature and applicable technical information for that model, called “categories.” The category will feature a specific list of PDF documents for viewing and saving.

To understand the information displayed for each file, see the following:

• The left column lists the chart number, which is helpful to note in order to use the quick search function for return visits.
• The middle column lists the latest file release date.
• The right hand column gives a description of what is included in the file.

Click on the desired link to begin the download of the file. Click “Open” in the prompt window to open the file to the screen. Once the file is downloaded, it can be saved to the computer or printed off for future use.

• All literature is in PDF format and requires Adobe Reader, Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Acrobat Professional to view. There is a link (Download Acrobat Reader) in the footer of the Website that will assist in the download of the program, if necessary. The link will open a new window to the Adobe Reader homepage. To download the latest version of Adobe Reader, click “Download Now” and follow Adobe’s instructions.

To return to a previously visited page, follow the red path on the top of the page. For example, to return to the list of files for a specific crane model, click on “Categories.” However, to return to search under a different crane model, click “Table of Contents” to return to the home page.
