Punitha Govindasamy joins Manitowoc as marketing communications manager for the Asia-Pacific region

Punitha Govindasamy has joined the cranes division of Manitowoc as marketing communications manager for the Asia-Pacific region. She will work out of the company’s Singapore office and reports to Raman Joshi, Manitowoc’s director of marketing for Asia-Pacific and vice president for India. Joshi says that Govindasamy’s vast industry knowledge and experience will be a strong benefit to the organization. “Punitha has been covering construction equipment and the construction industry in this region for almost 15 years,” he said. “Her knowledge of the market will help us as we expand our presence in the region. We are in the process of building a team of marketing professionals to cover this region and we are delighted to welcome someone of Punitha’s caliber as a key member of this new team.” In her new position, Govindasamy is responsible for regional marketing efforts including the creation of marketing collateral material for all Manitowoc branded cranes sold in the region, including Manitowoc crawler cranes, Grove mobile cranes and Potain tower cranes. She will work closely with the regional trade and general media, and will manage Manitowoc’s involvement in trade shows in the region. Her appointment increases the depth of Manitowoc’s marketing organization worldwide and will better leverage the global marketing communications team to more evenly support each of the company’s regions. Prior to joining Manitowoc, Govindasamy served as Editor on one of the leading construction magazines for the Asia-Pacific region.
