Manitowoc names Gilles Martin EVP Asia-Pacific region

Gilles Martin serves as executive vice president of the crane division in the Asia-Pacific region.

Manitowoc has announced the appointment of Gilles Martin as executive vice president of the crane division in the Asia-Pacific region. He will be located at the Asia-Pacific headquarters in Shanghai, China, reporting directly to Eric Etchart, president and general manager of Manitowoc’s crane division.

Speaking of the appointment, Etchart pointed to Martin’s experience and entrepreneurial leadership abilities.

“Gilles is an accomplished manager with a proven track record in international business growth and change programs,” he said. “With experience in both China and Korea, Gilles has a sound understanding of the opportunities and challenges in the Asia-Pacific region.”

Prior to joining Manitowoc, Martin worked with Schneider Electric in leadership positions based in China, France and Morocco, most recently as the vice president of building segments in Grenoble, France. He has also held leadership positions with Clemessy, the French Embassy and Philips Group. 

Martin holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering from ESME Sudria in Paris, and an MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleu, France.
