Ted Thomas named director of customer service at Manitowoc Crane CARE in the
Americas

Theodore (Ted) Thomas has joined Manitowoc Crane CARE as director of customer
service for Manitowoc cranes for the Americas region. He reports to Scott
Alexander, vice president of Manitowoc Crane CARE Americas. As part of the
customer service management team, Thomas is responsible for directing all
customer support activities for the Manitowoc lattice-boom product line. Ted
is based at the Manitowoc Crane CARE call center in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, US.
Scott Alexander said Thomas’s experience was crucial to his appointment.
“We consider this position to be a vital one in our continuing drive to lead
the way in customer service for the lifting industry,” said Alexander. “We
extended our search over a broad area to ensure we hired the very best the
customer service industry has to offer. Naturally, we are delighted to have
secured the services of someone as experienced as Ted. He is an excellent
addition to our team.”
Thomas has a solid background in aftermarket operations and product
management. Prior to his appointment at MCG, he held a variety of senior
positions at Metso Minerals including that of vice president of the company’s
aftermarket operations across North and Central America. He has also served in
a variety of other engineering roles with Metso. He holds a Bachelor’s of
Science degree in mining engineering from Michigan Technological University
and is a registered professional engineer.
