MCG meets mp3 as first CraneCAST launches
Manitowoc Crane Group is offering customers the chance to listen in to the
Intermat 2006 trade show in Paris through an audio podcast, posted on the
company’s Website. The free broadcast is called CraneCAST and is the
first-ever podcast for the lifting industry, reflecting Manitowoc’s continuing
industry innovation and its drive to communicate with customers on many levels.
The CraneCAST was recorded live during the Intermat 2006 trade show in Paris
and features interviews with company product managers as well as a welcome
message from Glen Tellock, company president. The company plans to develop
this state-of-the-art communication tool and sees excellent potential for it
as the popularity of mp3 players continues to grow.
A computer and an internet connection are all that are needed to listen to
CraneCAST. It is available as a live-streaming audio file for immediate
listening and as a download for listening later or transferring to a mobile
device.
Tom Cioni, director of worldwide marketing communications, said Manitowoc
Crane Group is pleased to offer the industry’s first podcast because it will
improve how the company communicates with customers.
“We take seriously the challenge of innovation, both with our products and
with our marketing communications efforts. We view podcasting and listening to
audio clips via the internet as emerging communications tools that suit modern
lifestyles. Plus it’s fun,” he said. “We are especially excited about this
CraneCAST because it shares a glimpse of the busy Intermat show for those who
didn’t attend or those who want to learn more.”
