MCG focuses on innovation and benefits
Manitowoc Crane Group is celebrating innovation at bauma 2007, and showing
how recent company advancements are benefiting customers and moving the lifting
industry forward.
Philippe Cohet, executive vice president for Manitowoc Crane Group in EMEA,
said bauma 2007 is about far more than just showcasing new cranes.
“The key goal for us is to demonstrate what our new cranes mean to our
customers and their businesses,” he said. “MCG is proud to be one of the most
innovative companies in our industry. However, this is not ‘innovation for
innovation’s sake’. These cranes will help customers work quicker, smarter, and
in a more profitable way.
“Our product development is driven by our desire to constantly improve
customers’ return on investment. Whether that is through minimizing the cost of
ownership or maximizing productivity, it is a continuous initiative. At MCG it
incorporates a number of common features.”
Some of these features are:
- Making cranes compact and easy to move for simple and quick access to
sites
- Making cranes easier to erect and dismantle
- Ensuring easy access to replacement parts
- Designing user friendly operator and control systems
- Producing ergonomic cabs, so lifting operations are safer and more
productive
- Maximizing reach and lift performance for better utilization.
Examples of this product development process are being displayed at bauma 2007
in Grove mobile cranes, Manitowoc crawler cranes and Potain tower cranes. Each
brand has something new on display. Also represented are Manitowoc Crane CARE,
the customer service brand, and CraneCREDIT, which provides equipment
financing. In addition, visitors may visit the MCG company store where they can
buy a range of branded goods.
For those unable to attend bauma, Manitowoc Crane Group is presenting daily
streaming video from the fair, available through the company Website. These
video broadcasts are profiling the machinery on show and include interviews
with MCG staff and customers. They also offer the first look at other products
MCG is unveiling and announcing at the show.
Bauma 2007 is April 23-29, 2007 at the New Munich Trade Fair Centre in Munich,
Germany. Manitowoc Crane Group will occupy Stand 1105 in the Open Area South.
Manitowoc Crane Group will have 14 products on show at bauma 2007, 11 of which
are new.
